Lucille's first beach trip

Lucille is a beach lover... just like the rest of us! She loved the sand, sun, water, and shade! We went to Sandestin for a work confernce for Bill (so I had two kids on the beach for much of two days by myself!). It was so fun, but exhausting! Funny how you sometimes need a vacation from your vacation.

The kids are growing up so fast! More to come over the summer...

Christmas

What a wonderful time of year! I have a December birthday, so the holiday season has always been one of my favorites... besides the fact that it is Jesus' birthday too! I call it "birthday month", which I think Bill secretly hates due to the fact that I have unrealistically, high expectations for the entire month. Personally, I do... and I don't. I do because I don't want my birthday forgotten in the midst of all the chaos that comes with holiday parties, family get-togethers, and the year-end work that Bill is always "entitled" to do (wink, wink). Good excuse, honey! And I don't, because it's a reminder that I'm another year older. Either way, December always passes too quickly.

So, in the hustle and bustle of the busiest time of year, Santa came on Jesus' birthday to see Henry. Lucille is too young to know the difference, so we "adopted" a child through Bill's firm and she received a Christmas experience. Santa brought a John Deere Gator for our so-called "good little boy". I think Henry was nicer to Santa than to Mommy... but I won't complain, this Gator keeps him busy!

We were visited by a great uncle Rique Carson from Houston and a good friend, Susan, from Oregon (which we won't hold against her come Monday! She's originally from the South.). We made two trips to Atlanta, one to see Mom's side (the Carsons) and one to have dinner with Margaret (my sister-in-law) and Mom on their birthday (same day... cool, huh?); one trip to Dothan for the annual Robertson Family Christmas party; and two trips to Eufaula (within two days!), one for Poppa & Keitty's Christmas and one for the Gaither Family Christmas. Needless to say, I'm not traveling for a while!

Here are pictures from our Merry Christmas, we hope yours was too. Enjoy!

PS - Santa is my brother, Will. Henry had no idea it was Uncle Will... I love this age!!

Our family

We had a friend come over and take newborn pictures of Lucille, as well as some family pictures.

Cille is getting so big! She now weighs over 8 pounds and has grown 1 inch. It is amazing to see how much she changes each day. She is more alert and follows the sound of your voice. She is such an incredible baby!! She still sleeps a lot, but is awake in the mornings and from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. She is waking around 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. to eat, then up for good around 7 a.m. I don't feel so sleep-deprived anymore.

Henry is adjusting so well and he loves his sister. I wasn't sure how he would react, but he seems to be doing okay. He does ask me to put her down sometimes, and I try to accommodate. I'm not too worried about him... he has grandparents and aunts that want all of HIS attention!

Bill and I love having this little family. It seems so strange! I feel like I should still be in high school dating Bill, not having two children with him!! Life is so good... God is so good!!

Enjoy the pictures!

Getting ready for #2

We are so close... and so excited about Lucille's upcoming arrival! My due date is 10/10/10, but I'm hoping she comes sooner. Henry is excited as well. He is constantly hugging my belly and talking to "Cille". His favorite thing to do right now is pull my shirt up and expose my enormous belly to all of Publix or Target or sometimes at school. He doesn't quite comprehend the "discretion" factor during pregnancy. However, he is excited about having a sister, so I know he is going to be such a sweet big brother.

He recently started back to "school", which is really Mother's Morning Out at our church. He loves his new class and teachers! I picked him up today and he was nowhere near ready to leave... and that's a first! Of course, the first words out of his mouth were not "Hey Mama!", it was "Daddy no pick Henry up from school??!!??" With much disappointment and confusion. He is on a kick right now where he likes for me to drop him off and Bill to pick him up. However, sometimes Dad is really busy and has to work and can't get to school on time... but try telling that to a 2 1/2 year old!

Here are some pictures that a friend took while testing her new lens. She is incredible! Henry was a sport too! I will hopefully have newborn pics done when Lucille arrives.

We're having a girl!

We found out last week that we are having a girl in October. Everyone is thrilled! I think Henry is starting to somewhat understand... he has stopped hitting my bulging belly and is now hugging and kissing it. That's got to be a good sign! He also wants "Sister" to go everywhere he goes.

Two weeks ago, Bill attended a conference in Sandestin while Henry and I enjoyed the beach! Henry had his first experience with the Euro Bungee in Baytowne and as always, enjoyed the playground with Bill before the drive home.

We are about to have a really busy summer! We are vacationing at the beach with two friends and their little girls this upcoming week... Henry is so lucky - all girls!!! Then we are attending a party for Lindsay and David in Eufaula next weekend, while Bill goes to Tuscaloosa for Steve Suther's wedding. Then, we will be in Eufaula that next weekend for Kathryn Nix's wedding. The following week, I'm teaching VBS while Henry attends the two-year-old group (the Little Dippers - Galactic Blast theme). On that Friday, we drive to Atlanta for Will's wedding weekend festivities. Phew! If you need me, call my cell!
