Uncle Rique is here!

Henry is being baptized this Sunday, so Uncle Rique and Ilene are in town for the occasion. They drove 12 or 13 hours from Houston, Texas, to be here with us for the weekend. I've met Ilene before, but the rest of the Carson-Gaither family has not... so it's a double fun occasion. The Robertsons are coming on Sunday and we'll all have lunch at the club afterwards. Henry is going to have a BIG weekend!! I'll post pics on Sunday or Monday. However, I wanted to put this one out there .... 4 generations on the Carson side (Uncle Rique - my grandfather's brother, Mom, me and Henry).

Henry and the mirror

I get an email once a week that tells me how my child should be developing and what's average for his age. Last week, babycenter.com said Henry should recognize faces in the mirror... not necessarily his or mine or even know which is which (that will happen at 6 mos of age), but just see a face and be happy. Here's our first experience.

Monday was a big day for us - Sarah, our summer "nanny", started. She is so great and Henry loves her! We are so lucky that she could work with us until we can start daycare. We are on a waiting list for ECDC (early childhood development center) at First Methodist, but it's evidentally a long list. I'm actually glad we haven't been accepted yet... I want Henry home as long as possible!

Carson-Gaither beach trip

We spent last week with Mom's family (the Carsons) in Seagrove beach. Aunt Gigi, Uncle Jim, Jimbo Carson and Hayley, Jimbo and Carson Tucker. Lindsay and Will came from Atlanta and Bill joined us on Wednesday - just in time for the 4th. The pictures tell all - Henry was the center of attention! Along with Carson, who is 14 months. We had so much fun and didn't want to come back to work this week. Lindsay has more pictures, so I'll post them as soon as I get them.

Father's Day weekend

We spent the weekend in Eufaula with our fathers. It was the first time Lindsay and Will have been in Eufaula with Henry. Henry had fun waking Aunt Lins and Uncle Will each morning and of course playing with Uncle Will... as you can see! We swam at Big Bill and Keitt's on Saturday and Henry spent the afternoon getting to know his Aunt Cat and Aunt Louise (Keitt's sisters). It was a beautiful, fun weekend. I think Bill had a good first father's day.

Henry's big week!

Henry has had a busy week! Mom came on Tuesday to keep him until Thursday. She is helping us this summer while she's out of school, but she teaches at Auburn on Thursday nights, so Patsy will keep Henry on Mondays and Fridays. I know it seems confusing, but we really do have it all worked out - for now. :)

Tuesday night we took Henry to his first Biscuits game - it was also Beasley Allen employee night. He was asleep when we got there, so he missed a photo op with Big Mo (the biscuit eater). However, he woke up for the 7th inning stretch!

On Wednesday, we attended the Montgomery Auburn Alum dinner to hear Coach Tubberville talk about his trip to Iraq and preparations for the 2008 season. Henry met Aubie and Tubbie. Of course, he won't remember the Coach because he was sleeping!

On Thursday night, I hosted the Montgomery Kappa Delta Alum Association at our house. Dad came to Montgomery to bring me some furniture I needed and flowers from their yard. While here, he was coaxed into babysitting upstairs so I could have the party downstairs. I think he and Henry had too much fun... Hen was worn out!

good times with family

These two are actually related! Carson has beautiful red hair and big blue eyes and Henry has brown hair and big chubby cheeks. They are 11 months apart. Carson is Hayley and Jimbo's little one. He is so much fun and smart! Hayley is a great mama - I'm so proud of her. :)
My sweet Aunt Gigi, Uncle Jim, cousin Hayley and her husband Jimbo Tucker kept Henry for me so I could help host Melina Douthit's baby shower in Birmingham on Saturday. I think our cousin Carson was a little jealous that his grandmama and mama were holding Henry, but the men kept him entertained I'm sure! I hear Carson has these cloth letters that my dad and cousin Jimbo like to play with - and spell very funny words (at least funny to them!).
