Our family

We had a friend come over and take newborn pictures of Lucille, as well as some family pictures.

Cille is getting so big! She now weighs over 8 pounds and has grown 1 inch. It is amazing to see how much she changes each day. She is more alert and follows the sound of your voice. She is such an incredible baby!! She still sleeps a lot, but is awake in the mornings and from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. She is waking around 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. to eat, then up for good around 7 a.m. I don't feel so sleep-deprived anymore.

Henry is adjusting so well and he loves his sister. I wasn't sure how he would react, but he seems to be doing okay. He does ask me to put her down sometimes, and I try to accommodate. I'm not too worried about him... he has grandparents and aunts that want all of HIS attention!

Bill and I love having this little family. It seems so strange! I feel like I should still be in high school dating Bill, not having two children with him!! Life is so good... God is so good!!

Enjoy the pictures!

Getting ready for #2

We are so close... and so excited about Lucille's upcoming arrival! My due date is 10/10/10, but I'm hoping she comes sooner. Henry is excited as well. He is constantly hugging my belly and talking to "Cille". His favorite thing to do right now is pull my shirt up and expose my enormous belly to all of Publix or Target or sometimes at school. He doesn't quite comprehend the "discretion" factor during pregnancy. However, he is excited about having a sister, so I know he is going to be such a sweet big brother.

He recently started back to "school", which is really Mother's Morning Out at our church. He loves his new class and teachers! I picked him up today and he was nowhere near ready to leave... and that's a first! Of course, the first words out of his mouth were not "Hey Mama!", it was "Daddy no pick Henry up from school??!!??" With much disappointment and confusion. He is on a kick right now where he likes for me to drop him off and Bill to pick him up. However, sometimes Dad is really busy and has to work and can't get to school on time... but try telling that to a 2 1/2 year old!

Here are some pictures that a friend took while testing her new lens. She is incredible! Henry was a sport too! I will hopefully have newborn pics done when Lucille arrives.

We're having a girl!

We found out last week that we are having a girl in October. Everyone is thrilled! I think Henry is starting to somewhat understand... he has stopped hitting my bulging belly and is now hugging and kissing it. That's got to be a good sign! He also wants "Sister" to go everywhere he goes.

Two weeks ago, Bill attended a conference in Sandestin while Henry and I enjoyed the beach! Henry had his first experience with the Euro Bungee in Baytowne and as always, enjoyed the playground with Bill before the drive home.

We are about to have a really busy summer! We are vacationing at the beach with two friends and their little girls this upcoming week... Henry is so lucky - all girls!!! Then we are attending a party for Lindsay and David in Eufaula next weekend, while Bill goes to Tuscaloosa for Steve Suther's wedding. Then, we will be in Eufaula that next weekend for Kathryn Nix's wedding. The following week, I'm teaching VBS while Henry attends the two-year-old group (the Little Dippers - Galactic Blast theme). On that Friday, we drive to Atlanta for Will's wedding weekend festivities. Phew! If you need me, call my cell!

Sal's Pizzeria, Zelda Place

We tried a new pizza place for dinner last night. It was really good... but my boys enjoyed the milkshake more than the pizza (well, maybe not when you look at Henry's chin!).

Easter

With two weddings and a baby coming up this year, life is BUSY! I'm finally downloading Easter pictures. Henry somewhat understood this year the competition of the Easter egg hunt (with help from his father!). The only problem is that he is a sweet-aholic, so he would stop and open and eat the candy from each egg without continuing the hunt. It was pretty entertaining. We attended our annual Sunday school class egg hunt on Palm Sunday for lunch. The other pictures are from church that morning and Easter Sunday. On Easter Sunday, we joined Patsy, Winn, Molly, Eric, Alyce, and Billy for lunch at Tish's. Henry was treated to another egg hunt... where he found all the hidden eggs!

Big brother to be!

Henry will be a big brother in October! We are thrilled!!

Henry turns 2!

We celebrated Henry's 2nd birthday last weekend. I can't believe he is 2! It is such a different phase in life. He is your typical "terrible two!" We are adjusting, but it takes a lot of patience on my part.
We rented a choo-choo train for the party and invited family and a few friends to celebrate. The children loved the train and Henry loved driving it! It was beautiful and sunny so the weather definitely cooperated with Henry's big day.
Most of you know that we are expanding our family in October... yes, baby #2 will arrive around October 13. We are so excited! Plus, Henry needs his world rocked!!

Snow Day!

We got about 3 inches of snow in our front yard yesterday. It was amazing! Bill and Henry made a snowman and Nelle ran around like a crazy dog! Everyone loved the snow. After nap time, we played on the Huntingdon football field where apparently, others had made snowmen for every position for a game. So fun!
This doesn't happen much in the South, but we awoke to snow on the ground this morning. It is a beautiful site!

PS-- Lindsay and David got engaged last night!!! Yeah!!! So, we are headed to meet them for lunch today to celebrate. We love David, and are so excited about our new addition to the Gaither family!!

Key West 2010

Last weekend, Bill, Henry and I visited Poppa in Key West. It was a wonderful trip. Sometimes it is just nice to get away in the middle of winter! We flew down on Saturday, and like so many others I dread flying. But! Henry was a great distraction. He loved being in the airplane. Planes are one of his favorites these days (along with the choo-choo train). When we landed it was somewhat abrupt since they have a short landing pad. Well, Henry yelled with joy at the bumps and brakes being pumped and everyone seemed to think he was quite funny. That was after he ran the aisle during the flight flirting with two cute girls in first class... I'm sure the others enjoyed that! Ha!!
We walked everywhere, mostly the docks and Duval (Henry enjoyed people-watching), and took Henry to Mallory square one night at sunset. The food was fantastic and of course, we loved being with Poppa. Here are a few pictures from our trip. Did I mention that we bought a keylime pie the afternoon we arrived and it was gone by day 3. Yummy!

A Robertson Christmas

We started the festivities with the Carsons and Gaithers at Lake Martin. We celebrated birthdays and Christmas. Everyone had so much fun with the Wii, the Rudolph red noses and each other. The boys (Carson, Caleb and Henry) had matching pajamas and were so cute!
On the 19th, we drove to Dothan for the Robertson Christmas party. Bob & Margie have four granddaughters, so Henry got a good dose of dresses and tiaras! As always, it was a great time with family.
On the 23rd, we met Lindsay, David, Mom, Dad and Rique (who drove in from Houston!) at Huggin' Molly's in Abbeville. It has become a tradition to meet there for Mom's birthday every year. Then, we drove to Eufaula for the Blackmon Christmas party (Keitt's family). We spent the night with Poppa and Keitt and Santa came early to see Henry at Poppa's on Christmas Eve.
We returned home to attend our Candlelight Service at church with Tish, Winn, Molly, Eric, Alyce, Billy and Bill's cousin and her husband (3rd cousin), Lynda and Stormy. Afterwards, everyone joined us for dinner at our house. We put "Santa" toys together after Henry fell sound asleep, and just enjoyed being together on a wet, cold Christmas Eve night.
On Christmas day, Molly, Eric, Alyce, Billy, Tish and Winn came back to see what Santa left for Henry.... he must have been a GOOD boy!!! After brunch, we returned to Eufaula to have dinner with the Gaithers, Bowmans, and Williams.
It was a wonderful Christmas!! We are so thankful for our families. Henry is a lucky little boy to have so many that want to spend time with him at such a special time of year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
