Henry's first haircut
I almost backed out on the way to the Barber Shop today... but I'm so glad I didn't.
Bill's sister, Alyce, got married in May. She had a small, private wedding to Billy Addison --- whom we love and are SO glad to have as part of our family. Henry is very lucky to have two wonderful uncles now -- Eric and Billy! Anyway, some friends are hosting a party for Alyce and Billy this weekend... so I wanted him to look presentable!
OH, does he... he actually looks like a little boy!!! Also, I was afraid my dad was going to come to Montgomery in the middle of the night and cut Henry's hair without me knowing, if I didn't do something soon. I do so love the precious baby hair, but his was getting a tiny, tiny bit out of control. It doesn't help to have his dad's cowlick either (which everyone seems to love --- I guess it's cute, but it's hard to deal with!).
The Baptist South Barber Shop is the place to go! Someone recommended it to me and they were great!! Henry had a toy box full of toys to take with him to his seat, two Dum-Dums, a cup of Smarties, and two butter cookies. It really doesn't get much better than that. "Miss" Karen was wonderful and sweet and took her time letting Henry get to know her and it was absolutely the best experience.
Now, we are ready to PARTY!!!

new baby and a visit with grandparents
Bill has been in Houston for work this week, so Henry and I packed up on Tuesday and drove to Birmingham to visit our newest cousin, Mary Carter Robertson. While Henry didn't pay too much attention to Mary Carter, he did enjoy his visit with Tate. Mary Carter is precious!! I don't know how I didn't get one picture, but Jennifer did (check out The other Robertsons blog).
Yesterday, we drove to Eufaula for the day. We had breakfast with Mom and Dad. Then, went swimming with Pop and Keitt. Henry had a blast!! He always loves visiting grandparents. Lucky for her, Patsy gets to see him more often (mostly because I'm asking her to babysit... but I don't think she minds... at least I hope not!). So, we try to make trips to Eufaula as often as we can.

the mustache
I feel need to mention that my brother, Will, thinks he is so funny sometimes. Last summer at the beach, he shaved his beard into a Fu Manchu, then into a mustache... this just so happened to be the night he met Margaret (July 3, 2008). Well, in preparation for the proposal, he did the same this year. He isn't some crazy person... I don't think.

July 4th beach trip
Mom and Dad take us to the beach for a week every summer. It's always so much fun for our family to get together... well, maybe not ALWAYS fun. Now that we are grown, we don't bicker and fight with each other, we discuss controversial topics instead. Luckily, we are all pretty much on the same page.
The Carsons join in this fun trip... and Uncle Rique and Ilene made an appearance this year! Uncle Rique is Mom's uncle, but he's only 8 years older than she is so we're really close to him. He also lives in Houston, so he had quite a drive.
Aunt Gigi, Uncle Jim, Hayley, Carson, and Caleb Tucker, and Jimbo Carson came from B'ham. Lindsay and David were at the beach with his family and joined us on Saturday the 4th. Will and Margaret came from ATL and Mom and Dad drove down from Eufaula. We had a full house!! Henry thoroughly enjoyed playing with Carson. They are 1 year apart and absolutely loved each other. Caleb is 4 months and such a good baby!! The Bowmans were there too staying just down the street from us.
On the morning of the 4th, we all joined the other 30A-ers and watched Seaside's July 4th parade. Henry caught beads and wore them all week. All the kids got candy and stickers from the participants in the parade. I think the 70-year-old baton twirlers were the most interesting.
Bill had to return to work on Monday, but Henry and I stayed and enjoyed the beach each day. He is such a water bug! He got a kick out of the waves "chasing" him. He would run up to the beach laughing so hard he couldn't breath. Then, he would run back down as if to say... "come and get me!!"
Each night we had a wonderfully cooked dinner by a family member. I will say Will and Marge won the prize for the best dinner. For appetizers, we had shrimp scampi, for dinner we had cedar plank salmon, cheese grits, bacon-wrapped asparagus, and a wonderful salad. The dessert was homemade creme brule. Yummy, yummy dinner!!
They make a good team... luckily.... because they are getting MARRIED!!!!!! We are so excited to welcome Marge to the family!!
Will proposed in Seaside on July 3rd. It was very special... and I was especially excited to be a part of the occasion. We all celebrated afterwards at the Red Bar in Grayton Beach.
It was a wonderful 12 days... we are looking forward to next year! And the wedding!!!
